What this class does well
A collinear omni covers every azimuth from a single feed, so one antenna serves subscribers in any direction and no re-aiming is ever needed. The sealed fiberglass radome handles years of UV and weather without maintenance.
Where it falls down
Gain only comes from flattening the elevation pattern. A high-gain collinear on a tall mast will underserve everything close to the base, and the tall radome is a significant wind load.

Specifying one for antenna lightning protection
Mount a surge arrestor at the building entry point, bond the mast and all connector shells to a single-point ground, and keep ground conductors short and straight to minimize inductance. Confirm the connector before ordering: changing the interface later means either an adapter, which adds a mismatch and a failure point, or a re-terminated cable. Standard builds ship with an N-Female interface.
